eVisa to Zambia Information for 2021

Travelers who are planning a stay in Zambia now have the option of applying for an electronic visa online. According to the Federal Foreign Office, the online application has been available since October 14, 2015.

The examination of the application takes about three working days. When the e-Visa is issued, travelers receive a confirmation letter by email.

The eVisa must be printed out and presented at the border crossing. The visa fees must only be paid on the website. At the border, foreign visitors also receive a visa stamp in their passport.

As part of its travel and security advice for Zambia, the Federal Foreign Office points out that in the past, airlines have in individual cases already requested proof of a valid visa from their passengers before departure.

Requirements to travel to Zambia

  • Passports and other papers approved for admission must be valid for at least four months after arrival.
  • For a limited stay of 90 days, most countries traveling as visitors may receive a visa on arrival./
  • The Yellow Fever vaccination is usually recommended for travel around this country.
  • Travelers with a passport that is not readable by the computer cannot pass the border or transit.

Requirements to travel to Zambia

All travelers must have a negative COVID-19- Provide evidence of a PCR test. The report must not be older than 14 days upon the arrival. Otherwise, they will refuse entry.
Travelers with COVID-19-Symptoms and a body temperature of 38 ° C or higher will be COVID-19 tested upon arrival and required to undergo a 14-day quarantine in a government facility. However, the traveler bears accommodation and meal costs.
The Zambian health authorities reserve the right to inspect the domestic conditions beforehand. If the Zambian authorities judge the quarantine circumstances unsuitable, travelers must go to a state facility for the 14-day quarantine.

Tourists, visitors, and business travelers are encouraged to consider possible COVID-19-Check during their stay. Travelers still need a certificate of the negative test, which is only available from the following locations:

  • University Teaching Hospital (UTH)
  • Public Health Office (PHO)
  • District Health Office (DHO)
  • Adult Infectious Disease Center (AIDC) at UTH
  • Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI)
